LexisNexis
is the official publisher for the 2003 statutes when the state contract was
changed from Bradford Publishing
b. Since the statutes were published July, 2003 I've been unable to access
the
CRS
website using the latest version of
Netscape..
c. With some errors I have been able to access the
CRS
website using the latest version of
Microsoft Internet Explorer, however experienced errors. Additionally,
cookies are required (possible computer interrogation).
d. The CRS
website is linked from the
Colorado
Legislature Page which works with Netscape.
e. Previously, the free - public access website statutes could be searched
by statute number, word or court rule, and the search was easy. A layman
should not be surprised if he / she runs into some difficulties with this new
search mechanism. I know of no other official
CRS
website available free to the
public.
f. LexisNexis website
includes Colorado statutes, Colorado court rules, Colorado Constitution and US

As an aside note, the
"Bar" is not the local tavern. The bar is a dividing
railing in the courtroom which separates the general public from the litigant's tables,
podium, jury box, witness chair, clerk's and court reporter's stations
and judge's bench. The tavern image is more
colorful, but it's a myth, just as are TV images of Perry Mason / Paul Drake
surprise discovery or hovering over and intimidating / badgering
witnesses.
